Watch this short clip highlighting Freedom House, the first fully accessible emergency shelter for disabled victims of domestic violence and their families in the United States.

The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence reports that only 35% of shelters they surveyed have disability awareness training for their staff, and only 16% have a dedicated staff person to deliver services to women with disabilities.

Want to learn more about providing domestic violence services to victims with developmental disabilities? Register now for the National Alliance’s upcoming webinar, “Working with Survivors with Developmental Disabilities.” The webinar will take place on Thursday, January 17th from 12-1:30pm Eastern and features Freedom House’s CEO and Executive Director, Paul Feuerstein, as well as expert speakers Shirley Paceley (Blue Tower Training) and Nancy Smith (Vera Institute of Justice).
