16 Days: United States

In the United States, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime, and younger women, ages 16-24, experience domestic violence at higher rates.  Advocacy organizations and individuals are working to raise awareness, provide education, training and assistance to victims of domestic violence.   In 2011, JWI and Jewish Woman magazine recognized four Jewish women advocates working to end domestic violence in the United States.
