October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Pass it on.
This October marks National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the 17th anniversary of the passage of the historic Violence Against Women Act.
Who would be better than Vice President Joe Biden, who first drafted the legislation in 1994 as a U.S. Senator from Delaware, to appear on The View to explain his ongoing efforts to end violence against women and girls? During his appearance, the Vice President discussed two issues critical to JWI’s work: teen dating violence and sexual assault affecting young women.
As National Domestic Violence Awareness Month continues, please follow Jewish Women International’s tweets and Facebook updates for facts about domestic violence and read our blog which will be updated with interesting posts throughout the month.
